Jim practices in the area of commercial litigation, with an emphasis on banking litigation, bank insurance issues and fidelity-surety law. He has represented banks and bank holding companies in many different types of disputes including complex shareholder litigation, employment and wrongful termination disputes, lender liability cases, check fraud litigation, disputes with vendors, foreclosures, and collateral disputes between lead banks and participants. He has been part of Boardman's Banking Law group since 1981. As part of his banking focus, Jim has written several briefs as amicus curiae for the Wisconsin Bankers' Association.
Jim's practice includes other types of disputes as well, particularly in the area of construction law. He is experienced in representing sureties, principals, and owners on bonded projects. Also, Jim recently represented a Wisconsin municipality in a complex power plant matter.
